 Our Statement of Faith

We believe according to Scripture:

  • In one God eternally existing in three, distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is equal in divine nature, functioning harmoniously. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Mathew 3:11-17, John 8:57-58)
  • That God created the universe, the heavens and earth, and every living thing. God created mankind in His image. He created them male and female, Adam first and then Eve. Both genders are ordained by God, equal in value, cherished, dignified, and distinct. God creates all persons in the womb and distinguishes personhood before conception. (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-4, Genesis 1:26-29, Psalm 139:13-16, Luke 1:13, Luke 1:31, Ephesians 1:4)
  • That the Bible is God’s inspired word, inerrant in its original manuscripts; trustworthy in all matters for which it speaks; irrevocable; and infallible in matters of faith and practice. (Daniel 9:10, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Matthew 24:35, Luke 1:70, Hebrews 1:1)
  • That Jesus Christ came into this world to die for sinners; was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born through the virgin Mary; was tempted and yet did not sin; lived in such way that attested to His divine nature, role, and purpose; that He forgave sins; died on His cross to pay the penalty for sins once and for all; rose from the dead, ascended to heaven; and now sits at the right hand of God the Father until His promised return. (John 1:29-34, John 6:37-40, John 8:57-58, Acts 3:18, 1 Timothy 1:15-17, Titus 2:11-15)
  • That the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, reminds believers of Christ’s words; regenerates, secures, seals, and empowers all believers for holy living and service according to His will. (Zechariah 7:12, John 14:17-26, John 15:26, John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 4:30, Titus 3:5)
  • That all persons have sinned and fallen short of His glory. That the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:10-11)
  • That there is good news: God so loved the world that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. Jesus is the only way of salvation, everyone who believes in Him will be saved. Believers are those who come to Christ, believing and trusting in Him alone for the complete forgiveness of sins (repentance). Salvation is a work of God—by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. (John 3:16, John 5:24, John 6:37-40; John 14:6, Acts 4:12, Acts 10:43, Romans 3:19, Romans 3:23, Romans 4:3-5, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Timothy 2:5)
  • That in Christ, believers are united as His Church and members of one another. Believers are commanded to love one another; to fellowship; to worship God together; to edify one another with Scripture; to participate in water baptism as a declaration of one’s identification with Christ’s death and resurrection; to participate in the Lord’s supper in remembrance of Christ’s life, His atoning sacrifice, and His future return; and to encourage one another in love, unity, grace, and truth. (John 13:34-35, John 17:20-23, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Romans 3:25, Ephesians 4:1-6, Ephesians 4:28-32, 1 John 1:7, 1 John 3:9)
  • That Christ commissioned all believers to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all Jesus commanded. (Mathew 28:19-20)
  • That Christ will gloriously return to reign, to raise all the dead, to bring all believers to Himself, to bring about the final judgment upon all unbelievers, to make all things new, to abolish death, mourning, crying, and pain. His reign and presence will be enjoyed by believers from every tribe, tongue, and nation forevermore. (Isaiah 25:6-9, John 5:28-29, John 6:39-40, Acts 10:42, Revelation 20-21)
